Maersk Oil and Maersk FPSO are among 30 companies in the British part of the North Sea, which since 2006 has been informed of security breaks by the British Healths and Safety Executive (HSE).

Maersk FPSO and Maersk Oil have broken the security regulations 35 and 34 times, respectively. BP Exploration have 28 breaks and Shell UK 38. CEO of Maersk Oil in the UK, Tom van Leenen, is glad that the number of security breaks has been reduced during the last couple of years – but there is room for further improvements.
-We recognize that we can improve our performance, and we have invested significant resources in identifying underlying conditions and have initiated programmes to make problem areas good, he says.
